Recreational cannabis is legal in California but CBD products still need to adhere to state requirements. Proposition 64 allowed residents to farm hemp and created some much needed safety measures. However some counties still have their own restrictive laws.
The bottom line is that it is legal to purchase CBD products in California but the THC content must be less that 0.3%. Also you cant sell CBD infused indigestible items in restaurants. Though the law is not really clear if you can add it to food in general. Out of state retailers can also ship CBD to California.
